October 23, 2008

Video footage of METALLICA performing the song "Fight Fire With Fire" at the opening show of the band's first North American indoor arena tour in almost four years Tuesday night (October 21) at the Jobing Arena in Glendale, Arizona — now with newly added soundboard audio! — can be viewed at this location. Support at the gig came from THE SWORD and DOWN.

METALLICA's setlist was as follows:

01. That Was Just Your Life
02. The End Of The Line
03. Sad But True
04. Wherever I May Roam
05. One
06. Broken, Beat And Scarred
07. Cyanide
08. Frantic
09. Until It Sleeps
10. The Four Horsemen
11. The Day That Never Comes
12. Master Of Puppets
13. Fight Fire With Fire
14. Nothing Else Matters
15. Enter Sandman
- - - - - - - -
16. Last Caress
17. So What
18. Seek and Destroy

Although METALLICA has played European festivals for the last couple of summers, and a few one-off U.S. shows, the band has not traveled extensively in North America since touring behind 2003's "St. Anger" album.

METALLICA's latest effort, "Death Magnetic", sold 51,000 copies in the United States for the week ending October 19, bringing the album's U.S. sales total to 1.16 million. The CD currently sits at No. 4 on The Billboard 200 chart.
